Following a selection process that started last September and ended in July Henley Rowing Club members Chloe Hughes and Charlotte Tong were selected to represent Great Britain at the World Rowing Under 19 Championships in Trakai, Lithuania.

Racing started on Wednesday last week with Semi Finals and Finals taking place on Saturday and Sunday. Chloe raced in the coxless four with Sophie Haisman, Ottilie Campbell-Reide, Amelia Westbrook, the final was a fierce battle all the way down the 2000m course between the USA and Great Britain with the USA taking Gold on the line and GB silver just 0.6 seconds behind and Italy the Bronze nearly a length back.

Charlotte had the bow seat in the GB eight with Lone Haley, Eve Pinsent, Freya Coupe, Charlotte Taylor-Aubery, Elayna Yap, Lucy Pillar, Lara Bone, cox Hannah Jacobs. In Sundays final Australia went out fast and led the pack to half way but as they started to fade the British crew upped the pace and from 1500m just kept getting away from the rest of the crews and stormed across the line for Gold a good half length up on the USA in silver and Romania in third.
