Outstanding Success at Henley Town and Visitors' Regatta

The annual Henley Town and Visitors' Regatta once again provided a fantastic day's racing on the historic Henley Reach, with crews enjoying an outstanding series of victories across junior and masters events on the regatta's fast-paced three-lane, 800-metre course.

The junior squad led the way with a string of impressive performances. Tom Leppard and Will Cowburn claimed victory in the J15 Double Sculls, rowing confidently to defeat Sudbury in the straight final.

There was further success in the J14 Double Sculls, where Ace Hawkins-Bekir and Zach Norman emerged victorious from an all-club straight final. They finished ahead of Stratford-upon-Avon and a second Henley crew, underlining the impressive depth within the squad.

Tom Leppard completed a memorable regatta by adding the J14 Single Sculls title to his earlier success. Showing excellent composure, he overcame two Wallingford Rowing Club scullers in successive races to secure his second victory of the day.

Lottie Cotton also enjoyed an excellent regatta, winning the Girls' J15 Single Sculls after defeating two Wallingford Rowing Club opponents on her way to the title.

One of the standout performances of the day came in the Open Coxless Pairs, where juniors Diego Petrosillo and Oscar Newson stepped up to race against experienced senior opposition. After defeating Reading Rowing Club in their opening race, they went on to overcome Cygnet in the final to claim an outstanding victory against more seasoned crews.

The masters squad also celebrated success, with Matt Peachey and Jan Wildenhain producing a superb display in the Masters D Double Sculls. Victories over Marlow Rowing Club and Fairlop Rowing Club secured another well-deserved title.

These wins formed part of a hugely successful day that saw crews record numerous victories across the programme. The performances reflected the hard work and commitment of athletes and coaches alike, with competitors displaying skill, determination and composure in front of the enthusiastic crowds lining the banks of the Henley Reach.
