Henley Rowing Club has successfully completed an extraordinary 24-hour fundraising challenge, rowing the distance from Henley to Seville - in kilometres, on Concept2 rowing machines and bikes - to raise funds for much needed equipment.
Held from 6–7 December, the non-stop event brought together more than 150 rowers, spanning juniors, seniors, masters, and supporters across the community. The challenge began in high energy at “Sunset Club,” where rowers were powered along by music and a buzzing atmosphere. As darkness fell, the event transformed into “Party Club,” complete with neon lighting, glow sticks, and enthusiastic shifts from the junior squads who helped keep spirits high through the night.

Dawn brought “Sunrise Club” injecting fresh momentum into the effort - boosted by special guest appearances from Olympians Sam Redgrave and Jess Leyden, whose support thrilled participants and spectators alike. The final stage “Lunch Club” and the closing hours of the 24-hour stint, showcased determination, teamwork, and the trademark Henley Rowing Club spirit.

The club’s JustGiving campaign has raised an impressive £18,000 to date, reflecting huge community support. To mark their ergo contribution, each participant was presented with a “Seville” orange, symbolising both endurance and team unity.

Henley Rowing Club extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who rowed, donated, or cheered them on throughout the challenge.
