Boxing Day Eights

Despite the miserable weather conditions there was a good turn out for Henley Rowing Club boxing day eights races. Six eights raced off the Christmas day excess over a course from just below Marsh Lock to a finish opposite the club house. The fun event brings together the complete spectrum of club members with the crews for each eight being randomly made up to contain a mixture of club members and guests from oldest to youngest, competitive to non competitive. The crews were watched by a good crowd of supporters who where kept sustained by mulled wine and mince pies before retiring to the bar to see tankards presented to the winning crew of, Emma Lister cox, her mum Helen Lister,Sam Hayes, Andy Lewis, Tanya Fish and her daughter Molly Thorpe, fresh from GB trials Gemma Hall, James Harrison and Bruce Turnell.
