Henley Rowing Club organises two events – the first is a Head Race for 4s and 8s in February and the second is an Autumn Sculling event for small boats run at the end of October/early November depending on the racing calendar.
The Henley Sculls Autumn 2016 was a great achievement for the organising team, who once again staged one of the best run events in the rowing calendar. The event was founded in the early 1970s by Arthur Holloway. I know that Arthur would have been very proud of the way the event and its younger sibling, the Henley Fours and Eights have grown and he would wholeheartedly approve of the great job done by the current Chairman of Henley Open Events, Peter Knowles and his team.

I love Henley events because they are so well organised. Why can’t all Head races be like this?
Competitor, Henley Sculls October 2015
The 2014 4s and 8s was another success as shown by comments received. Unfortunately the event did not run in 2015 and 2016 due to adverse weather conditions.
As a squad we are keen to compete in head races such as Henley Fours and Eights for good racing this time of year and as great preparation for the Women’s Head.

…the opportunity to race on the Henley course is something that as a club we couldn’t turn down. The experience of racing in Henley makes the early starts and the long, cold day worth it.
