Subject to the limitation of facilities available, membership of Henley Rowing Club is open to anyone interested in the sport of rowing regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs.

For potential new members we offer a two week trial free of charge.

A full member may apply in writing for election to life membership.  Further information in the Club Rules and Constitution.

Members should also consider joining British Rowing . This will be compulsory for members wishing to race.  Non-members and members in arrears will not be permitted to compete for Henley Rowing Club.


Seat race fees will be the responsibility of members.


Rack Spaces for members privately owned boats may be available subject to the agreement of the Captain. A rowing membership must be paid for. Included in the rack fee is the cost to the Club of providing an identification number (a ”HEN” number) and annual Environment Agency Licence.

Privately owned boats must be insured by their owners. The Club operates a scheme for adding private boats to the Club’s insurance policy .  Details, how to apply and the cost is explained in the attached note.
